My Precious Jewels

“They shall be Mine, says the Lord, in that day
when I make up my jewels.”–Mal. 3:17
~ ~ ~

Are you discontent?  Discouraged?  Do you lack contentment in your present circumstances?  The spiritual medicine for this is be encouraged for we are Christ’s precious jewels and that alone brings contentment of heart, mind, soul and body.  We are that “rare jewel” of Christ and in Christ all things are yes and amen. We are precious to Him so much so that we have been bought with the price of His sacrifice for us in salvation.  He gave so that we, his jewels (children) could have life everlasting and the assurance of all things “yes and amen.”  We are His and He is ours.  We rejoice in this with every breath of our being so that we shine as His “jewels” of faith, mercy and contentment as we live in this present world giving praise and thanksgiving to Him.  How then can we not be filled with hope, rejoicing and contentment?  We can, read on . . .

“The Christ-centered “hidden woman of the heart” will have a countenance of light, joy and peace emanating from her no matter what her circumstances. Her countenance will be a reflection of God’s light and glory just as it was with Moses so it will be with her. She will be in God’s Word, submitted to God’s Word, and will let God’s Word rule in her heart, mind and attitude. God has said in His Word, speaking through the Apostle Paul, “shall we continue in sin, God forbid.” [Rom 6:1] No, we shall not continue in the sin of discontentment. We shall put it off and put on Christ. We shall put off this dirty garment of complaint and put on the garment of praise. This is what we are to do to change from a murmuring, complaining woman of discontent to a woman of praise for the good of our own souls and the glory of God.

Lord of Glory, help us to be that “rare jewel” of contentment in You and Your providence in our lives with joy of heart and spirit and to reflect that glory to the world so that Your Name is glorified and extolled.  Thank you Gracious Jesus for your unlimited grace to us.  In Jesus Name, Amen. 1/_TG-RW

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision
for the flesh,  to gratify its desires.” Rom 13:14

“Jewels are precious. Who can fully estimate the preciousness to Jesus of His saints? Their persons are precious, their faith is precious, their love is precious, their sacrifices are precious, their petitions in prayer and ascriptions of praise are unutterably precious, to the heart of Christ, upon whose breast-plate they are set as stones of light and glory. They must be precious for whom a precious Christ poured out His most precious blood!”_Jeremiah Burroughs

I am looking for a devotional for college age girls that is reformed, full of solid theology, and deep. Is your book a devotional? If not, would you recommend one? Thank you.

Welcome and thank you for your questions and comment. There are many excellent devotional books on my recommended reading (study) list here at “Tolle Lege” https://reformedwomen.wordpress.com/reformedwomen-reading/ which I highly recommend. Carol Ruvolo and Susan Hunt have many excellent books which would serve well for teaching collage-age girls and/or any woman seeking biblical theology for application personally to the Christian life and practice. My books and studies are, like Ruvolo and Hunt and others I recommend, strongly reformed, theological and with the goal to apply biblical truth of God’s Word to daily life and practice. There are also excellent recommendations (and posted articles and studies) here and at my @TheologyGirls and blog here: https://theologygirl.wordpress.com/
