Ladies,
Here is a link that shows a lot of the damage done by the tsunami. There are 20 sets of pictures. The first few are high altitude and do not show nearly as much as the low altitude pics. Be sure to click on the before and after button to compare the difference. On some you can see the size of the waves. This can serve as a reminder of God’s power and a reminder to pray for so many of these people.

Our family, and church, know a man born in Sri Lanka, that now is a pastor in New Zealand. He has a large ministry in Sri Lanka and in parts of India. Since he speaks the language and knows the culture he has advantages that others may not. He also speaks the Tamil language, the language spoken in Tamilnadu - the hardest hit provence in India. He is currently over in SL and India. Please pray for him and his work. His name is Pastor Bala.

Janice, these pictures are amazing and it is God’s mercy that there were any survivors at all. His providence is perfect in these things and He called us by it to pray for all who are involved in all aspects in the efforts to help these people and their families and for that peoples of the world that they may look to Christ for help in time of need of their affliction. Thank you for sharing this most excellent link. May God be glorified in the results from it.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 2 Corinthians 1:3-6
